The News newspaper is taking issue with Dominican lawyer Anthony Astaphan for public comments he made.
The media house is claiming that Astaphan may have slandered it and has published Astaphan’s conversation he had on radio.
According to the News, Astaphan would have misled the public when he accused the media house of deliberately publishing false information regarding an objection made in chambers by Stanley Stalky John in a claim the government brought to have the elections petitions thrown
The court record the media housed obtained showed John’s objection to hearing the government’s claim, but it is not clear if the media house will be seeking an apology from Astaphan for his outbursts.
