The National Community Tourism Consultations being hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture will continue this week with a consultation in Union Island on Friday July 28th, 2023. It will take the form of stakeholder engagements with key tourism stakeholders on Union Island including the Union Island Tourist Board, the Tobago Cays Marine Park and Sustainable Grenadines.
A delegation which will be led by Minister of Tourism the Honourable Carlos Jamesandincludes Minister with responsibility for Grenadines Affairs the Honourable Benarva Browne will also conduct a walkthrough in Union Island, where they will interact with tourism stakeholders, as well as visit specific tourism sites and attractions on the island.
The 2023 National Community Tourism Consultations which were launched last Thursday July 20th at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will seek to provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss matters related to tourism development and to further sensitize Vincentians about the transformation of the tourism and hospitality industry in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Thursday’s launch featured presentations by the Minister of Tourism, Honourable Carlos James, the Minister of Agriculture Honourable Saboto Caesar, the Minister of Finance Honourable Camillo Gonsalves along with the Managing Director, Eastern Caribbean of Sandals Resorts International Mr. Winston Anderson, and President of the SVG Hotel and Tourism Association, Mrs. Kim Halbich.
The National Community Tourism Consultations will continue in various communities throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines until November 2023.
