Dougie Joseph, a reporter with the News Newspaper is reporting by way of his Facebook page, that Vincentian footballer Myron Samuel returning home for Friday’s game with the US faced a difficult time with the customs officials at E.T Joshua.

“How in the name of my great grandmother can national footballer, ‘Left Eye’, arrive home to represent HIS COUNTRY in the World Cup game against the USA and Customs take his bags with clothing, shoes and other personal stuff, saying he has to PAY for them?
Will they do the same to the American players when they arrive here? I doubt!!! I never knew Left Eye to be a Trafficker; all he knows about is playing ball!
This is a youth who takes his money and buys football shoes for persons he does not even know.
What makes any Customs official feels he now wants to make money from one game?

Myron Samuel (born 19 December 1992) is a Vincentian international footballer who currently plays for Seattle Sounders FC 2 in the USL. Samuel is one of the youngest players to play and to score for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation on Wednesday had to come to the aid of the national footballer, Myron Left Eye Samuel after Customs demanded that he pay for his personal belongings.
Samuel is said to have had to leave his luggage at the airport and journeyed to the SVGFF’s office and the matter was later resolved, his clothing and football gears, along with other personal items, were handed over to him, with no charges.
