Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sir Louis Straker says the government is planning to embark on a project to build a warehouse in Barrouallie to process blackfish catch. so as to make it possible to have the commodity exported.
This is necessary the Minister said,and all part of getting the commodity ready for export.
Minister Straker made the announcement earlier this month while speaking at a ceremony where the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Government of Japan signed an agreement for the Japanese Grant Aid entitled “Economic and Social Development Programme” for the Provision of Japanese Disaster Reduction Equipment.
He said the government is hoping to carry forward this project in the next year or two, and will be seeking the assistance of Japan in this effort.
