Rainforest Seafoods Ltd the Caribbean’s largest supplier of premium quality fish and seafood, has announced that it will soon launch a new plant in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
This announcement was made by Brian Jardim, CEO, Rainforest Seafoods, while in Kingston Jamacia last Wednesday.
According to the company’s website, they are the Caribbean’s largest supplier of premium quality fish and seafood. With two large HACCP, FDA, and EU approved processing and distribution centers strategically located in Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
According to Jardim, the Prime Minister of St Vincent and their Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries invited the company to set down roots in their island which makes it the fifth Caribbean country that the company will operate in.
The company carries over 500 references of fish and shellfish sourced from recognized suppliers around the world.
Armed with a wealth of experience in the tourism industry, our CEO, Brian Jardim recognized that hotels in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean lacked a consistent, high-quality supply of the healthiest protein available – seafood. So, in 1995, Brian decided to embark on his vision; he turned to brokering container loads of bulk packed seafood to distributors and resorts throughout the Eastern Caribbean
Rainforest Seafood’s name comes from lush and healthy rainforests prevalent in the South American country of Guyana where Brian first started imported seafood from the edge of the rainforest.
The company has satellite operations in St Lucia, Belize, and Barbados. Across the Caribbean, they employ over 600 team members, 90 percent of whom are based in Jamaica.
