- OECS Advanced Digital Skills Scholarships – Applications Now Open!
The University of the West Indies, Global Campus (UWI Global Campus) in collaboration with the OECS Commission, announced the official launch of the OECS Advanced Digital Skills Scholarship Call during a webinar event on April 16, 2025. This transformative initiative is part of the broader World Bank-funded, Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP), aimed at increasing access to digital services, technologies, and skills, to boost digital connectivity, technology-enabled businesses and jobs in the Eastern Caribbean.
In his address at the event, Dr. Francis O. Severin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, UWI Global Campus stated that these scholarships represent a pivotal step in equipping the people of the OECS with the advanced digital competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven global economy. Mr. Germain Anthony, Technical Specialist – Education, OECS Commission in his greetings on behalf of the OECS Commission further stated that this opportunity should not be one to throw away especially under the current climate where resources for grant funding for education are literally drying up.
The call for applications is open to citizens and residents of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Eligible applicants will have the opportunity to access scholarships for certified training and professional development in high-demand areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Web Development.
