St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join the region in celebrating Caribbean Wellness Day on Saturday, September 10, 2016, under the theme “Healthy Children in Healthy Environments.”
Chief Health Promotion Officer, Patsy Wyllie says Caribbean Wellness Day is commemorated annually on the second Saturday in September to increase awareness of the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) burden in the Caribbean.
Ms. Whyllie says a week of activities to mark the observance will commence on Sunday, September 4, with an address by Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Luke Brown, and continue on Monday with a launch of activities in Kingstown at the site of the old Treasury Building.
Ms. Whyllie says the activities will culminate on September 10, with a family fun day at Victoria Park beginning at 5:00pm.
