According to Sandals Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, “tides will rise” for St. Vincent (SVG) as the southern Caribbean island tourism industry takes off.
Stewart said, speaking at the opening of Sandals St. Vincent Resorts, that all persons involved in the industry, first and foremost, will greatly benefit.
“The farmers are going to feel this. Hotel officials are going to feel it, and the tour providers are going to feel it. The entertainers, even the pastor and the priests, are going to feel it because of how many weddings we will do here.”
“The Grenadines is a fundamental part, and we want the tour providers to take our guests down there to see it. It is a great privilege to be able to do what we do and to showcase Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the international marketplace,” Stewart said.
Stewart further stated that as one of the Fortune 500 companies to emerge from the Caribbean, Sandals superpowers in marketing, will position the island on the international market
“Tourism is about the path of least resistance. So the mystique of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is, in so many ways, unexplored by the media. We plan to capitalize on this opportunity, given that sandals possess numerous advantages. In marketing, we’ll create over 10 billion media impressions a year saying, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and sandals. Therefore, we will integrate our brand seamlessly with yours. Create awareness and drive more demand. All the tides will rise. We call it the sandal effect. All tides will rise.”
Stewart said that with the increased airlift, Vincentians will have more of an opportunity to get on a plane more conveniently to go to international markets, while visitors are going to be able to get here in a more seamless way.
“You’ve seen the airlift. You’ve heard about it. American Airlines is going from two flights a week to four in April to six by the end of the year. Air Canada is flying year-round flights from 2 to 4 instead of seasonal. JetBlue is coming. Another major US carrier is coming. Virgin has gone from 2 to 3. It’s just the beginning.” Stewart said.
