Speaker of the House of Assembly Jomo Thomas is of the view that the issues on Canouan are far bigger than the dispute between Terry Bynoe, his supporters and the developers.
Thomas lent his voice to the ongoing saga in which Bynoe and residents on the Grenadines island are seeking access to the beach that has a hotel built on it.
Thomas said in his weekly newspaper column that the issue is much larger than beach access and that central to the debate, is how a deal was made that gave away prime real estate for small change.
Thomas said the State has given away a treasure ,the question is whether there are legal avenues to get the land back, since it is clear that too much of Canouan has been given away.
