Venezuela Rejects OAS Diplomatic Aggression Against Nicaragua
The Bolivarian nation described the resolution adopted against Nicaragua as irritating and aggressive through which the OAS delegitimizes the reelection of President Daniel Ortega. On Wednesday, Venezuela vigorously questioned the new attempt to disqualify the Nicaraguan elections by the Organization of American States (OEA), a U.S.-controlled institution that operates as if it were its “Ministry of Colonial Affairs”.
Venezuela recalled that the OAS founding charter does not grant that institution any of the powers that it has tried to attribute to itself. Nor does it grant the power to impose conditionalities on the Nicaraguan State in an attempt to cancel decisions made “in defense of the people’s will and peace in the country”. Bolivarian diplomacy denounced that the OAS claims to constitute “an unprecedented and highly dangerous fact in the history of international relations because they question the foundations of the democratic system and principles of self-determination and independence.”
Venezuela urges Latin American countries to condemn these interference practices, preserve respect for the sovereignty of States, and promote the ideological coexistence of nations.

Venezuelan TSJ orders new elections for governor of the state of Barinas
The election of the Governor of Barinas was preceded by a controversial race that was suspended by order of the TSJ, after the opposition politician and candidate to that office, Adolfo Superlano, filed a constitutional action – “with request for a precautionary measure”- against the then candidate Freddy Superlano.
According to the lawsuit, Freddy Superlano was disqualified from holding public office for having against him “administrative and criminal proceedings and investigations”, pending before the competent organs of the State, for being linked to alleged seditious actions and acts of corruption against the Venezuelan State.
Such situation, explained the TSJ, violated the constitutional rights to participation and suffrage, provided for in Articles 62 and 63 of the Venezuelan Constitution, reason for which the highest court ordered, first, to suspend the regional election due to the “climate of tension” among the political militants of Barinas, to later resolve the repetition of the elections due to the disqualification of Superlano.
The election for the office of governor of Barinas is the only one remaining to be defined after the regional elections of last November 21st. The incumbency of that office was disputed in a very close count between the Chavista candidate Argenis Chavez and the opposition candidate Superlano. The voting had required waiting for the counting of 100% of the ballots and the review of the electoral records by the National Board of the CNE, until it was suspended.
The new elections must be held on January 9th, 2022, according to the order of the TSJ. The Electoral Chamber of the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) ordered the National Electoral Council (CNE) this Monday to repeat the elections to elect the new governor of the state of Barinas (western). Through its web portal, the entity specified that the sentence also specifies that the call for the new elections be held on January 9th, 2022.
The Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) of Venezuela announced this Sunday the appointment of former Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, as candidate for Governor of the State of Barinas for the elections to be held on January 9th, 2022. Before the presence of thousands of militants, the appointment of Arreaza (who currently served as Minister of Industries and National Production) was ratified by the head of the campaign command, Diosdado Cabello, who predicted that the former Foreign Minister is a figure that will strengthen the socio-political development of Barinas.
