Venezuelan Foreign Minister evaluates bilateral agenda with Portugal
On Wednesday January 29th, Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, evaluated bilateral relations with Portugal, during a meeting with the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities, Berta Nunes.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, to exchange views on the current state of relations, regarding the first official visit of Nunes to Venezuela.
President Nicolás Maduro: I am willing to restore consular relations with Colombia
President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Wednesday, January 29, urged the Colombian government to set aside ideological and political fanaticism in reference to diplomatic and cooperative relations between the two nations. “Iván Duque has shown that he is not a statesman, he is not at the level to lead a State. Duke brought relations to an unimaginable point,” said President Maduro.
The pronouncement of the Venezuelan head of state comes after the capture of former Colombian congresswoman, Aída Merlano, in Zulia state last Monday and who was transferred to Caracas. Merlano is a fugitive from the justice of her country and her extradition to Colombi has not been possible because Iván Duque, broke relations with the Constitutional government chaired by Nicolás Maduro.
Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice cancels Guaidó decree on the reorganization of teleSUR
The Supreme Court of Justice (of Venezuela informed that the Constitutional Chamber declared the absolute nullity of the decree establishing a “Commission for the Reorganization” of the teleSUR information multiplatform.
Through a press release from the highest judicial entity in the country, they affirmed that the decision was taken “due to unconstitutionality and lack of legal effects of the” Decree establishing the Commission for the Reorganization of Telesur Venezuela and its subsidiaries “.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister describes Duque as irresponsible for breaking diplomatic relations
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza called Colombian President Iván Duque irresponsible for breaking diplomatic relations between the two nations. “Irresponsible! We denounce that since the day Iván Duque took office, Colombian institutions broke all communication with Venezuela. From Colombia they organize armed attacks against Venezuela and protect coup and criminal murderers,” said the Venezuelan foreign minister.
The pronouncement of Minister Arreaza comes after Duque assured before Colombian media that the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, was the one who broke diplomatic relations with Colombia.
250 Venezuelans return from Peru with the return to the homeland plan
The first of nine flights scheduled to return 2,250 Venezuelans to their homeland from Peru, departed this Wednesday, January 29th, from Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima with 250 persons on board.
After three and a half months of suspension due to the financial blockade imposed by the United States (USA), the Retuen to the homeland Plan was reactivated to accomodate citizens who want a safe return to their country. The waiting list in Peru, from which about 3,800 people have been repatriated, with an outstanding 5,000 requests, however, the Venezuelan consul in Lima said that all those who want to return will be satisfactorily answered, as the project will continue throughout the year
Commission created to investigate funds delivered by the US to Venezuelan opposition
The Venezuelan National Assembly, with an opposition majority, announced the creation of a special commission to investigate the recent corruption cases committed by Juan Guaidó and allied deputies, with respect to the funds that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated to the bank for alleged humanitarian aid, as well as the administration of assets of the Citgo and Monometers companies.
Venezuela and Vietnam strengthen agricultural relations
The Minister of Productive Agriculture and Land of Venezuela, Wilmar Castro, announced the strengthening of bilateral relations with Vietnam as integral partners in agricultural matters.
“We will progressively resume the issue of status of integral partners with Vietnam to not only work on the agricultural issue, but other issues, such as oil and tourism and strengthen trade relations and exchanges between the two countries,” he says in a Press release of the Office of the Vice Presidency. A meeting was attended by the Vietnam ambassador to Venezuela, Dao Thanh Chung; officials of both countries evaluated the progress of projects in agriculture.
Jorge Arreaza condemns Macron’s statements against Venezuela
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza condemned the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron who called for the holding of elections in Venezuela. Through his twitter account, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy said that “a deaf and arrogant government that cannot give democracy lessons to anyone, much less Venezuela.”
Jorge Arreaza also repudiated the repression of the French police forces to the mobilizations that have been happening in the country against the reforms promoted by Macron.
Bolivarian Government denounces creation of police force in Peru to persecute Venezuelans
The Government of Venezuela denounced, through a statement, the “infamous statements of the Government of Peru on the creation of an elite group to persecute the Venezuelan migrant population, accusing the Venezuelan nationals of the criminal boom in that country.”
Last Tuesday, January 21st , in an interview with Radio Nacional, the Interior Minister of Peru, Carlos Morán, said that “the presence of Venezuelans has generated shock” and motivated the creation of the special brigade to “fight offenders.”
The text disseminated by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry indicates that the Peruvian minister referred to the Venezuelan community in that country in a “threatening way” and made accusations “in generic terms” about its responsibility in the criminal boom.
New stage of ‘Mission Miracle’ will arrive in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
On January 28th, a work meeting was held between the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment of SVG with the objective of evaluating and organizing the carrying out of the new phase of the Miracle Mission that will take place from February 8th to 14th of this year in the Caribbean country.
The Head of the Venezuelan Mission, Francisco Pérez Santana together with the Permanent Secretary of Health, Cuthbert Knights and his team of medical authorities, met to determine the logistical needs and work agenda of the Venezuelan ophthalmologists who will arrive in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the month of February.
Pérez Santana announced that the Miracle Mission will be in different communities of Saint Vincent carrying out Visual Diagnosis from February 8th to 14th, with a total of four Venezuelan doctors to firstly detect conditions such as cataracts and pterygium.
Head of State approves resources for “Plan Z” that will manufacture 20 million shoes
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, approved a series of resources for the production of 20 million shoes through “Plan Z”. “This year we are going to build a thousand more Missions bases to expand the population served by all educational, health, education, security, food programs,” said the President from Sucre de Catia Avenue at the headquarters of Almacenadora Caracas CA, after a productive tour.
The new program promoted by the Bolivarian Government will involve 80 companies from the private sector that join the re-impulse of the national productive apparatus.
